This is an ongoing Community Science Project in which we monitor 14 nest boxes at Barfield Park and the newly acquired, adjacent Oakwood property.  Data regarding nest development, species, dates, eggs, offspring, and even predation is collected and submitted to Cornell's Lab of Ornithology's Nest Watch Program which helps scientists monitor reproductive biology trends in birds.  Most activities in this category occur March thru July but we do have some maintenance, planning and training needs outside of the nesting season too.

While LEAD Nest Box Monitors need to be trained and cleared by OM Staff, you do not need to be an expert on birds to help monitor.  Just come willing to help and learn!
